Making learning an adventure, one comic book at a time!

Every student should have access to resources that make learning exciting. Comic Books for Schools (CB4S), a program of ComicBooks For Kids!, works with educators, donors, publishers, and community partners to get comics, books, and customized learning materials into the hands of students who need them. Requesting a box for your school is free. Just tell us where it should go and which option you're interested in.

Who
We
Serve

Classrooms & Schools

We help educators bring engaging reading materials to students from elementary through high school. Our materials can support a single classroom, a whole school, or a specialized program.

Special Education & Neurodivergent Learners

Visual storytelling can open new doors for students with different learning needs. Our Neurodivergent Collection is built for special education programs, including students with dyslexia and other learning differences.

Religious Education

We partner with organizations and publishers to help religious schools put age-appropriate comics and books in students' hands. Our Catholic comics donation option is made for exactly that.

What's Inside a donation from cb4S?

Every school and classroom has unique needs, which is why our donation boxes can be customized to fit the students and educators receiving them.

A donation from CB4S may include:

  • Comics & Graphic Novels: Engaging stories that encourage reading and spark imagination.

  • Children's Books & Educational Magazines: Resources that introduce new subjects and reinforce learning.

  • Educational Programs & Lesson Materials: Tools that help teachers connect reading with classroom activities and discussions.

  • Toys, Games & Supplemental Resources: Additional materials that make learning interactive and fun.

Our boxes can contain more than $300 in retail-value materials, giving classrooms access to a variety of resources through the generosity of our supporters.

The Gen-Ed K-12 Box

Made up exclusively of printed materials, the Gen-Ed K-12 Box is built for classrooms, school libraries, and study rooms. It’s matched to the ages and grade levels of your students and includes comics, graphic novels, children’s books, and educational magazines. At the heart of every box are our custom-made comics, created just for us, which combine educational material with educational resources that work alongside the story.

The Neurodivergent Box

The Neurodivergent Box includes everything in the Gen-Ed K-12 Box, plus more hands-on items like Funko Pops, T-shirts, and toys, just like the boxes we send to children in hospitals. Client testimonial

"ComicBooks for Kids has made a remarkable difference in our Thrive Library, giving students with profound autism an engaging, visual entry point into reading and storytelling. Through our Caught-You-Reading program, the donated comics and prizes have inspired students to turn pages appropriately, spend more time exploring stories, and discover genuine joy in books. Every week, our students are excited to see their names go into the drawing, and we are seeing their excitement about reading grow alongside their confidence and independence.

For one of our students, Comic Books for Kids has been truly transformative: he went from having virtually no interest in reading to becoming highly motivated by comic books and the Caught-You-Reading program. That motivation helped him build meaningful engagement with books and strengthen his emerging reading skills to the point that he transitioned from a behavior- and life-skills-focused class into a more academically focused classroom. What started with the excitement of comic books and prizes has helped open the door to a level of academic engagement we had not seen from him before."

A note on transparency

For donations to our specialty partners, ComicBooks For Kids! keeps 15% to support the Comic Books for Schools program. In exchange, we coordinate with the partner: placing your order on their site, working with them on what goes in the order, and making sure it reaches the establishment you chose. Our specialty partners aren’t 501(c)(3) nonprofits, so this is how we help them take part. Your donation is made to ComicBooks For Kids!, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
