Donate to ComicBooks for Troops

Deployed far from home, a comic book can do something small and real: it can hand a service member ten minutes that feel like a break, a birthday gift for a kid they're missing, or just a familiar hero to reconnect with after a long shift. That's the idea behind ComicBooks for Troops (CB4T) — and it's why we've sent more than 250,000 comics to the men and women who serve, so far.

Give in Honor or Memory of Someone Who Served

Celebrate a service member, honor a memory, or say thank you to someone who means the world to you — with a donation that gives back in their name. Whether it's in honor of someone still serving (or who has served) or in loving memory of someone who's passed, your gift helps send comics to service members far from home.

Trust and Transparency

Comic Books for Troops operates under the same nonprofit backing as ComicBooks For Kids! — a 501(c)(3) organization with the GuideStar/Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency. Every comic and every dollar is tracked with the same care, whether it's headed to a hospital or a deployment.

Make a MONETARY Donation TO CB4T

Give once, or give monthly — every gift helps cover the comics, shipping, and logistics of getting a box to a service member, wherever they're stationed.

What CB4T does

Comic Books for Troops is the sister program to ComicBooks For Kids!, and by scale, it's the largest comic-book and pop-culture charity supporting the U.S. military. We provide comics and related items at no cost to service members across every branch of the military, delivered directly and through a network of partner organizations. See our current CB4T Partners for the full list.

Why your donation matters

Ask the units who've received boxes what a comic book meant to them, and the answers surprise people. Medics stationed far from their own kids have picked out comics to mail home as birthday presents. One clinic turned a donated Funko Pop into their unofficial mascot, proudly displayed at the front desk. Another unit repurposed an old crate to hold their growing comic collection, sorting it by title almost daily because it gets read that often — and turned donated games into a standing Friday-night tradition. These aren't small things to the people living them. They're a piece of home.

Other Ways to Give

Money isn't the only way to support CB4T:

  • Donate comic books or Funko Pops. New or almost-new items are welcome — we're based in the Chicago area, and donations can be dropped off locally or mailed. Contact us and mention you've reviewed our FAQ, and we'll send you the address and answer any questions.

  • Donate through a partner organization. Many of our partner organizations accept comics on our behalf — see CB4T Partners for the current list.

  • Suggest a partner or make a special request. Have an organization in mind, or a specific unit that could use a boost? Contact us — we're always glad to talk comics.

What we send: superhero comics from our contributing publishers, variety titles beyond superheroes (including classics like Archie), Funko Pops and pop-culture items, and board games or other morale-boosting extras, as available.

Condition standards: Comics and pops should be new, or look almost new — the same standard we ask of all our donors. Funko Pops should remain in their original box.
