ICv2 Highlights Jon Betancourt Joining the ComicBooks For Kids! Board
A milestone moment for CB4K and its growing mission to bring comics to children in hospitals.
In June 2018, ICv2 reported that Jon Betancourt, then Director of Book Sales and Operations at Archie Comic Publications, had joined the ComicBooks For Kids! Board of Directors as Vice President. His experience in the comic book industry brought valuable expertise to an organization working to make comic books and graphic novels available to children in hospitals and cancer centers across the country.
The article also highlighted new initiatives focused on expanding access to graphic novels for children with extended hospital stays and providing comics in languages beyond English. Acclaimed Mouse Guard creator David Petersen contributed collections in multiple languages to help support the effort, while legendary comic artist Neal Adams also offered to contribute materials.
This coverage captured an important part of CB4K's story: the generosity of creators and industry professionals who help us grow our mission and bring the joy of reading to more children.
