ICv2 Spotlights CB4K’s Special Art Baltazar Archie #700 Variant

A one-of-a-kind comic book cover celebrates a milestone issue while supporting hospitalized children.

In November 2018, ICv2 reported on a special Archie #700 variant cover illustrated by award-winning creator Art Baltazar to benefit ComicBooks For Kids! The limited-edition release marked CB4K’s first industry variant cover, bringing together the comic book community’s creativity and generosity in support of children receiving care in hospitals and cancer centers.

Fewer than 150 copies were made available through select comic book retailers and industry supporters who had helped advance CB4K’s mission. The initiative offered fans a collectible edition while recognizing the retailers and partners who helped support the organization through fundraising and charitable efforts.

This special release demonstrated how publishers, artists, and comic book shops can turn a landmark comic book moment into an opportunity to give back.
